This post of Mad Momma brings me to my favourite topic - that of anonymity in the blog world and the blog persona.
MM introspects and compares the blogger MM and the real-life MM in her post - Who is Mad Momma. She has also asked other bloggers to share their own experiences. Reading through the comments shows that while some quite openly blog about their lives, there are many who have a blog persona and keep their real identities anonymous.

I asked Renga (aka Dubukku) what does he think of me in person and me in the blogworld, he said "no difference at all". But sometime ago, another online friend of mine said that I am quiet different in emails (the person he knows as a friend) than the blog personality (the angry fighting feminist (although I claim I am not one)) he knows through my comments, and stated that they are two very different people. People in Tamil Blogworld might have a different imperssion of me to people who read just my kombai blog. People who read my normalself may have a total different opinion of me.
Also, it has got a lot to do with what they want to see.
For example, In blogs we end up seeing a part of us in others. All the time I end up relating every girl to a version of me and tend to get along with girls in the internet a lot when compared to me in real life that I end up getting along with men most of the time than with girls.
when shall we come to know who you are visitor?
recently when i went to one of my friends home for the first time..his mom said that it is always easier to link a voice to a face then just listening to a voice..so who are you really??
Whoever you may be your inputs and recos are useful.BTW Iam just myself in my blog
Hmm. Interesting post on her blog - I've bookmarked it and will get back to it later. I think its important to shield yourself on the internet ... who wants to get stalked, right?
Interesting question! My friends didn't find me very different from my blog personality, but members of my family [apart from my parents and brother] did. Personally, I don't know if I am Gounder Brownie in real life or not. I guess it depends on what you project yourself to be at any given moment. Hmmmm!
You have 2. One for blogging and a different one while commenting.:-)Not that there is anything wrong.
glad to see my post made you think! :)
I did nt want to think about this issue too much because it involves loads of thinking! ;) but I can give you something from the top of my head: Boo is what the real me wants to be like ALL the time! (ALL is the keyword here! ;)
Visitor,
First of all - Thanks for your comment on my blog and apologies for not responding sooner.
My anonymity is very very precious to me. It's a very small world & invariably you end up knowing someone who knows someone who knows someone you hate & bitch about on your blog - so it's best to keep it anonymous! :)
