Giving away the unused car park tickets is a common thing here in UK. Once one of our friend visiting us from madras/America threatened a woman (and threatened by the woman) who offered to take picture of all us posing together, which (the strange woman's offer) again is a common friendly gesture in London tourist places, particularly in places like Buckingham palace. :)
I think parking ticets should be done away with. (Because) I hate them.
